Hunter-Brace Yourself!

Bless Hunter's heart this week he got braces. Hunter sucked his thumb until kindergarten and we had been told braces were inevitable and this week they became a reality.
When I checked Hunter out of school to get his braces-I shared with the ladies there that Hunter was most upset because the Dentist had told him no more sweets or soft drinks. Hunter walked in the office with a Milky Way in one hand and a Coke in the other completely blowing my sympathy tale! The explanation was his team had won in Science and those were the prizes.
Now what kind of Mom would I be if I didn't let him enjoy them one last time!
Hunter smiling big BEFORE braces
Hunter AFTER braces and when they had begun to hurt
I did manage one little smile out of him
Hunter I pray the time will pass quickly and I know it may not seem like it now but the straight teeth will be worth it :-)

Just a few Easter portraits

Hallie and Claudia, this picture breaks my heart because other than the bows they look so grown!
Hunter and Hallie posing for Mom!

Finally I had to document Hallie's first pair of high heels
We had a wonderful Easter and I hope you did too!

Does He still feel the nails?

Easter was made even more special because Tim sang "Does He still feel the nails?"  Tim had asked Tyler if he could sing because he wanted to do it for Hunter. This is the song Hunter requested and coincidentally it was the song Tyler wanted the youth to do a skit to. Although as I have said before with Jesus it was not just a coincidence!
Does he still feel the nails every time we fail?
Every head shall bow, every tongue confess...

An Easter Celebration!

We woke up to a beautiful Easter and were so excited because Hunter was being baptized.

Waiting for Hunter's robe & instructions. He was nervous but excited.

Proud parents
We are so proud of you Hunter!
Hunter going in the water as Maibyn and Jennifer wait their turn. We had 3 baptisms-is that not wonderful!!
Hunter affirming his acceptance of Jesus Christ with Brother Richie
I pray you'd have a real sense
Of God's hand upon your life
As you go through the baptismal waters
And follow after Christ
I pray that you may go from here
Changed and made brand-new
Walking hand in hand with God
Into all He's called you to.

Hallie made letters in her icee-J is for Jesus!
I know my days of matching Easter outfits is coming to an end but this year we went with blue
Easter morning and look what the Easter bunny left...
Hallie got several Whimzy pets which is her favorite toy of the moment
Hunter got different sports balls.  It was perfect timing because his old basketball busted the night before.

Egg Hunt-Don't forget your flashlight!

A few years ago our church started a flashlight egg hunt. It has really turned out to be a fun idea. All the kids bring their baskets and flashlights and as soon as dark hits we turn them loose in their areas by age and they go crazy-it is so much fun to watch all those flashlights in a frenzy! Of course I had to take a few pictures and here are some of my faves....
Look at all these smiling faces getting ready for the hunt
Sweet Mia has her basket ready
Cooper takes his egg hunting seriously :)
The sweetest Easter discovery was this doll baby! Gracie Lyn is such a doll. Thank you Amy for letting me takes pictures of a blue eyed angel!
The older youth practiced skits and then they hid the eggs
On your mark, get set, go hunt!!

March 28, 2010

Sunday March 28th, 2010 started out as an ordinary day. We got up, we got ready for church, we went out to eat after. We talked, we laughed. Hunter and Hallie fussed. Tim and I stressed about the busy week ahead. Sunday night we got ready again and headed back to church for the Easter cantata.

Then something amazing happened something that made this ordinary day into an unforgettable day. Hunter asked Jesus into his heart. Hunter who weighs so heavily on my heart made the most important decision he will ever make-to follow Jesus. Sunday March 28, 2010 went from a date that in a few months I probably couldn't even recall what we did that day to a date that I will remember just like Hunter's birth date because on that day he was born again. Jesus you know how much I pray for this child-thank you for giving me peace about the most important decision he will ever make in his life. Thank You
