Hallie's Polka Dot Party

Hallie celebrated her 9th birthday with a polka dot party. She requested pink/lime green colors and polka dots (of course). This is what we came up with. There is so many pictures I am going to divide it into a couple of post.
We chose polka dot ribbon flip flops as the craft/favors. I lucked up and found lime green baskets that held the flip flops and ribbons for each girl.
The next post will have more on the flip flop craft but I had to show one pic of how cute they are finished :-)

I have to admit I had fun planning all these polka dots and went a little polka dot crazy on the food table.

We had vanilla cupcakes and I had talented Summerlyn do cupcake toppers for us. They turned out super cute!

I asked my friend Amy to do us a polka dot cake and oh my did she deliver! It was beautiful and soooo good. Amy is super creative and had the idea to add the bunting cake topper with Hallie's name, I loved it! I also have to add that Amy was an answered prayer, she helped us decorate, took pictures-she made the party stress free. Thank You Amy!!
The Hallie banner also has her room colors so we're planning on hanging it in her room now.
Stay tuned for Polka Dot Party Part 2!

A Glimpse.....

I can't believe that Hunter will move to high school next year. They have a graduation ceremony from middle school to high school complete with cap and gown pictures. Seeing Tim help Hunter with his tie just struck me as a  glimpse into the future of proms, his real graduation, a wedding.
Time truly does fly by it seems like yesterday he was this big brown eyed sly smiling little boy now he is as tall as his Dad!

Glutton......

for punishment. Hallie promised last year would be the last year to run as Valentine princess but when the consent form came home she started with the "Please Mom".....and I caved so the baking and selling began!
The girls and boys got to sell in the gym Wednesday morning. We were up bright & early and shockingly Hallie was up without argument and so excited.
Our best sellers were the cupcakes and popcorn. I don't care for the baking but I love the prettying it up.
Hallie was happy to get to set up by fellow princess Mady who was enjoying her breakfast :-)

Class Project

The 3rd grade had a class project-to make a castle. There weren't any restrictions just to let your creativity show through. Hallie started planning and from the beginning she wanted a girlie castle something in pink, of course. We just happened to have this wrapping paper which was pink and polka dots! She was a happy girl.
She named it.....
It turned out pretty cute :-) especially to be recycled from juice boxes, paper towel rolls, and Quaker oats containers!

Girlie Girls Can Hunt Too

Tim loves to hunt and had hoped Hunter would share that love with him but Hunter has no interest at all in hunting his love lies with sports and video games. But all hope may not be lost with Hallie, I don't know if she shows an interest just because she loves her Dad or if she really likes it. I do wonder what may happen if she actually kills a deer because she is such a animal lover, there may be tears instead of cheers!

Tim took these pictures and they tickled me because it shows Hallie doing all the "tricks" of deer hunting her Dad has taught her and look how serious she is :-)

These pics made her Dad so happy and even though most of the time Hallie is a girlie girl and stays right under me she is still Daddy's girl :-)

Just Hunter & Hallie

We always pick out Hallie's clothes the night before school. The other night I asked what she wanted to wear and as usual she said I don't care. I smiled and pulled out one of the girliest things in her closet it has ruffles and ribbons which have become a no-no as Hallie grows older. However to my surprise she said sure I'll wear it-I knew she was buttering me up for something but for the time being I enjoyed the moment!
Just a few shots of Hunter & Hallie before church. This is my favorite winter outfit of Hallie's I love the bright minke chenille and polka dots and Hallie loves it because it is so soft.
Can I just say that I love that side pony tails are back in style for little girls anyway! They are a lifesaver on Sunday mornings when hair has a mind of it's own.
I had to beg Hunter in for a few shots but he had his familiar smirk no matter how much I begged!
I look at other blogs that post pics of their small children each day and I think don't blink because they grow so fast.
