Open the Door, Step on the Gas, Lean Back & Let the Tigers Roll Past

Hallie cheered at her first football game this season and since I had to work her Dad took pictures and he did a great job!
 Posing before the game
Hallie excited and ready to get started
A few shots of the girls in action
Hallie and always smiling Tori :-)
Claire, Gracie & Kayla doing a great job

Waiting their turn on the field for their halftime routine
Did I mention it was in the 90's for this game and these girls were thirsty
Performing their welcome cheer
Waiting to do their stunts
Hallie chose a split she learned from her Momma NOT :-)
Look who the quarterback is for our team...it's Logan and Tim said he did a great job!
We were sad when Alayna Grace didn't end up on our cheering squad but at least we got to see her since we played them the first game.

Crazy Alabama Fans

The story goes that during a certain football game last year that went really down to the wire Tim had on this shirt & Hallie rubbed this button for luck. We won that game whether by luck or skill and since that game Tim wears this shirt for every Alabama game and Hallie rubs this button for luck.
Yes you read that right my family thinks this shirt and button influences how the game turns out
After the nail biter of a game against Arkansas that we won as you can see by Hallie's wide smile
The shirt and button are not going anywhere anytime soon I am just thankful Tim does allow the shirt to be washed in between games :-)

Summer to the Rescue

Hallie has always begged for french braids....unfortunately her Mom is braid challenged but today Summer came to our rescue!
Look at how pretty that is... and it took Summer just minutes-I was amazed :-)
Thank you Summer as you can tell from this pic you made Hallie so happy!

Good Morning Mady :-)

This past Tuesday I got to pretend I had 2 little girls I was seeing off to school. Mady's Mom had to go to work early so Mady came to visit that morning and ride to school with us. Hallie hates getting up in the morning but she was up and ready because she was so excited!
I grabbed my camera and took a few quick shots before they left. I think Mady thought I was a crazy person snapping away with my camera and may be slightly traumatized when I kept snapping and followed them to the car! I hope we can convince her to visit again :-)
Look at these 2 cutie pies
Matching polka dot book bags :-)
Off to school they go....

Cheer Practice

Hallie decided again this year she wanted to be a pee wee cheerleader. She loves to cheer but generally doesn't like to practice so I was very surprised when I picked her up from school and she said "I can't wait to get to practice!" I asked why the change of heart and she replied I got to up in prep Mom and I loved it-it was like flying!  All I can say is "Oh me, Oh my!" I get woozy just walking across the balcony of our own house.
Listening to Mrs. Tia's instructions (Tia rocks as a leader she is so organized-so unlike me)
"Lean on me"
If you look closely above you will see Sadie peeking out-oh what a doll!
Good friends and cheer partners
Hallie has cheered with Mady every year & I can still hear Mady yelling that first year
"Are you ready girls?"

The Greer Saga Continues......

This is what sits by Hallie's bed each night
It's another letter to Santa begging for Greer's return
And yes in case you're wondering I am a freak about bugs and it drives me crazy for open food to be left out!!!  For those of you who don't know, Greer is Hallie's elf who got to make an early return last year but hasn't made a return trip this time. Hallie frets every day when the crackers haven't been eaten and the water still remains (the story goes that the elves love crackers)

I have tried to help Hallie with reasons for the no show but all I can come up with is Santa doesn't reward whines and cries just remember...."so You better not pout,  You better not cry" Hallie has been going through a whiny stage so who knows maybe when the whining disappears Greer will magically reappear-just a thought!

Lazy Labor Day

We had a lazy Labor Day weekend. Hallie is not a child who plays by herself. The words I'm bored are frequent to her lips. This weekend was no exception but after scavenging through the cabinets she found some old paint from a discarded craft project and leftover poster board and she was happy! Hallie has always loved to draw, paint etc...
Bless her heart, she had to make do with old makeup brushes and q-tips for paintbrushes
She wanted to share her creation
That afternoon Hallie shocked us by spending hours in her room by herself!! Of course we had to investigate and this is what we found
Biscuit was receiving all of her attention
I am just proud of her for entertaining herself and the words "I'm bored" didn't cross her lips!

What?? September Already?

I am trying to do my blog headers according to activities for that month so this morning I told the kiddos that I wanted to snap a few pictures before they headed to school. Even though some of the pictures are included in the header I thought I would share the rest of them.
Hunter humored me by holding the football but would not smile for anything. His reasoning "real" football players don't smile!
Next we have our little tiger Hallie she wanted a little extra decoration this morning so I went all out!

Finally, I can't believe it's September! The older I get the faster the time seems to fly by.

I (heart) Pioneer Woman

Have you discovered Pioneer Woman's blog yet? Oh my goodness she is a hoot and while you're there read her love story of how she and "Marlboro Man" met and fell in love-Black Heels to Tractor Wheels. A couple of paragraphs and you will be hooked!  Anyway she has tons of wonderful recipes I have yet to try anything of hers that isn't good. So the other day she posted a recipe for malted milk chocolate chip cookies and I was immediately intrigued because I am in LOVE with a thin chewy cookie. I tried them and here are my results
Oh my...look at that thin chewy goodness!
They have a mild flavor with almost a toffee consistency to them
The kids loved them and Tim even liked them!

Here is the recipe compliments of Pioneer Woman

Malted Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • 1 cup (2 Sticks) Unsalted Butter Softened
  • ¾ cups Golden Brown Sugar
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1-¼ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1-¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cups (rounded) Malted Milk Powder
  • 1 bag (12 Ounce) Milk Chocolate Chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cream butter, then add both sugars and cream until fluffy. Add eggs and beat slightly, then add vanilla and beat until combined. Add malted milk powder and beat until combined.
Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to butter mixture, beating gently until just combined.
Add chocolate chips and stir in gently.
Drop by teaspoonfuls (or use a cookie scoop) and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Bake less if you want chewy cookies; more if you want crispy cookies.
